Definity Validator Staking Strategy

At Definity, we are committed to maximizing the impact and performance of your stake, as well strengthening Solana’s decentralization by strategically delegating stake to high-performing validators, with a special focus on the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. Our approach prioritizes reliability, transparency, and long-term network sustainability.

Regional Focus: Asia-Pacific

Definity actively supports validators based in APAC or those contributing significantly to the region’s Solana ecosystem. This initiative helps diversify stake distribution, promote regional infrastructure growth, and counterbalance the existing concentration of stake in other regions. As our pool expands, we will extend our reach while maintaining decentralization as a core principle.

Top Validators by Performance

We delegate to top-performing validators based on the following metrics:

Credit Score – Evaluates performance, reliability and operational track record.
Skip Rate – Preference for low skip rates to ensure consistent block production.
On-Chain Integrity – Excludes validators engaging in malicious activities.
MEV - Only validators running MEV-enabled clients are selected.
Regional focus – Furthering Solana's decentralisation and cencorship resistance means bringing stake delegations to regions outside of the US and Europe. At this time we focus on validators and validator operations who contribute to the APAC region's Solana ecosystem in a verifyiable and quantifyiable way.

Currently, the top 10 validators meeting these standards receive delegation, with plans to expand as the pool grows.

Commission Limits

Maximum Validator Commission: 5% – Ensures fair rewards for delegators.
Maximum MEV Commission: 10% – Supports validators running clients that support MEV rewards, capped at this threshold.

Rebalancing Strategy Overview

Definity dynamically adjusts stake allocation to optimize returns while maintaining stability:

Credit Score: Within the pool, validators with a credit score within the top 50 percentile, can expect to be awarded higher stake than the bottom 50%.
Skip Rate Monitoring: Validators exceeding a 10% skip rate face reduced allocations.
Stake Adjustment: A maximum of 5% of total stake is rebalanced per epoch.
